What tools are you using to track students when working with MTSS? The SLDS is a great resource. Intervention programs and screeners can be assigned to students and tracked within the SLDS. A tiering dashboard is available at the school and teacher level, displaying a percentage of students in Tier 1 and Tier 3 per assessment period. An Early Warning Dashboard, displaying grades 9-12 student data for those that are off-track on course performance, cum GPA, credit, or attendance. Take the time to see how the SLDS can track/display this data to make your life more efficient.

Understand the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) in terms of what it can do to help students maximize their potential.
Objective Description
  • Assess the effectiveness of the Early Warning Dashboard within the SLDS for grades 9-12 students who are off-track on various performance indicators (course performance, cumulative GPA, credit, attendance), and propose strategies to support these students in improving their outcomes.
  • Examine the tiering dashboard provided by the SLDS at both school and teacher levels, and interpret the data to determine the percentage of students in Tier 1 and Tier 3 during different assessment periods.
  • Utilize the State Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) to assign appropriate intervention programs and screeners to students based on their performance, and demonstrate the ability to track their progress over time.
