The Unemployment Insurance Division of Job Service ND is initiating a multi-year computer system replacement project, known as "Unemployment Insurance Modernization." We're seeking dedicated Unemployment Insurance (UI) Generalists to play a crucial role in supporting our Unemployment Insurance Program. This role will encompass a range of responsibilities, with a primary focus in the areas of tax liability and compliance for employers, claimant eligibility for benefits, benefit overpayments, and collections. Additionally, the UI Generalists may be required to contribute to project-related tasks, including data entry.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance the Unemployment Insurance ProgramEvaluate tax liability and compliance issues for employers.Assess claimant eligibility for benefits and address benefit overpayments and collections.Assist in various project-related tasks, including data entry and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience/education combination:a high school diploma or equivalent plusat least four (4) years of experience working in claims processing, insurance, payroll, customer service management or related functions. Related college-level course work may be substituted for the work experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and written, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products.

We're seeking a dedicated individual to aide in services offered through our New American Employment Program.The New American Employment Program (NAEP) is a state program working closely with the North Dakota Office of Refugee Services and refugees to determine needs, provide education, guidance, and consultation, to assist them in obtaining employment as they become established in our communities.The Employment Advisor will provide comprehensive support and tailored case management to clients. Through one-on-one consultations, you will assess clients' goals, strengths, skills, and interests. You will assist in developing personalized action plans and, depending on the program, direct to eligible training, certification, educational opportunities, services, and other resources; offering advice, as well as guidance on resume writing and interview preparation, ultimately helping clients achieve success in the job market.Cultivate relationships throughout the community participating in job fairs, conducting presentations, and collaborating with boards, chambers, economic development associations, employers, refugee organizations, and other workforce programming services. Travel may be required during regular business hours throughout the week for training and to perform outreach activities to customers/clients.

Proficiency in a second language is advantageous for this role, as it involves frequent interaction with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Preference will be given to applicants who have outstanding written/verbal communication skills and excellent proven customer service, public speaking/group presentation, problem solving, listening, multi-tasking, and organizational skills. Previous work experience in refugee services is preferred.
